Biography | Jerry Ball
Jerry Ball has a Master’s degree in Foundations of Mathematics and post-graduate studies in philosophy and education. He was a teacher for fifty years and is retired from both the community college system and Cal State Long Beach. He has been studying haiku since 1975 and is the founder of the Southern California Haiku Study Group. He is the founder of Haiku North America, has been President of Haiku Society of America for two terms, and was the editor-in-chief of San Francisco Haiku Anthology. He has published five books of haiku; his most recent book is titled Pieces of Eight(2005).
